Developing some expressive language skills among children with specific language disorder in Assiut Governorate

Abstract

The current study aimed to at investigate the effectiveness of the training program based on the ABLLS-R Average Approach to develop some Expressive Language Skills for Children with Specific Language Disorder, and the continuity of the program during the follow-up period. The study sample consisted of (10) Children with Specific Language Disorder, males and females, and their ages ranged between (7 - 12) years, with an average age of (8.6), and a standard deviation of (3.5). The study’ instruments included "Specific Language Disorder Skills Scale prepared by Sayed Yass and others and the Scale for Diagnosing Some Expressive Language Skills in Children with Specific Language Disorder prepared by the researcher, and the training program based on the ABLLS-R Average approach prepared by the researcher. The current study based on a quasi-experimental design with a single group (One Group Design). Results of the study showed the effectiveness of the training program based on the ABLLS-R method and the continuity of that effectiveness during the follow-up period in developing some Expressive Language Skills in Children with Specific Language Disorder.
