The Study sought to assess the extent to which Saudi universities contribute to the development of their students' social intelligence, particularly considering the evolving demands of future job markets.
A descriptive approach was utilized to investigate the research question. A random sample of (445) faculty members from five Saudi universities (Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, King Khalid University, King Abdulaziz University, and Northern Border University), representing approximately 2.29% of the total population, participated in the study. A questionnaire was used as a research tool and was administered to the sample.
The Study found that the Saudi universities role in developing students' social intelligence in light of future job requirements, as perceived by faculty members in terms of teaching, research, and community service, is relatively weak. Based on these findings, the Study recommends the introduction of new areas within graduate programs in various universities related to developing social intelligence and its relationship to future jobs among university students. Moreover, the Study emphasizes the need to establish various training programs for faculty members to encourage the development of their social intelligence, which can then be transferred to their students.
