Abstract

هThe aim of the current research is to identify the effectiveness of using the context-based learning approach (CBL) in teaching science in developing the Depth of scientific knowledge and Design thinking among the hearingimpaired. To achieve this goal, the environment unit was reformulated and taught using (CBL), the sample consisted of (15) students at Al-Amal School for the Deaf in El Minya, and Itsa school for deaf in Samalowat, in the first semester of the 2024/2025. Sample was devided into two groups, one of which was the treatment group (9) students, and the other (6) students who were assigned to control group. two measurement tools were prepared and standardized: the depth of scientific knowledge test and the design thinking test. Then, the two measurement tools were applied before and after to the members of the two research groups. The results were treated statistically using the Wilcoxon test, the Mann-Whitney test, and the correlation coefficient for the ranks of related and unrelated pairs. The research found, that the (CBL) was effective in developing the depth of scientific knowledge and design thinking among the students of the experimental group
