Abstract

The current research aimed to design a pparticipatory e-learning environment based on the modeling learning strategy and measure its impact on reducing cognitive load among primary school female students in Jeddah. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers used an experimental quasi-experimental design. The research tools included a cognitive load scale, and the research sample consisted of 52 female students from the fifth grade at School 21 in Jeddah. They were divided into two groups: an experimental group of 25 students and a control group of 27 students. The results indicated statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05≥ a) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of the cognitive load scale related to the Participatory e-learning environment in favor of the experimental group. A significant positive effect of using a Participatory e-learning environment based on the modeling learning strategy in reducing cognitive load among primary school female students in Jeddah was observed. The research recommended several recommendations, including the utilization of various strategies in the Participatory e-learning environment.
