Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the effect of the timing of the appearance of embedded questions in the interactive video on the development of statistical concepts among intermediate school students in the Qassim region. Accordingly, the study tool was prepared and its validity and reliability were verified, which is: the achievement test of statistical concepts. The study used the quasi-experimental approach based on the (pre-, post-) design for two experimental groups. The study sample consisted of (50) intermediate school students in the Qassim region, who were divided into two experimental groups. The first experimental group represented (learning with embedded questions distributed during the presentation in the interactive video), while the other represented the second experimental group (learning with intensive embedded questions at the end of the presentation in the interactive video). The results of the study showed a statistically significant difference at the 0.01 level between the average scores of the students of the two experimental groups in the post-application of the statistical concepts test, in favor of the group of the timing of the appearance of embedded questions in the interactive video (distributed during the presentation). In light of the results of the study, a number of recommendations and suggestions were presented.
