A program Based on Tokkatsu Activities in Teaching the Arabic Language to Develop Dialogue and Collective Thinking Skills of Primary School Students

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the effect of a program based on Tokkatsu activities in teaching the Arabic language on developing dialogue and collective thinking skills among sixth-grade primary school students. The research tools included: a dialogue skills test, a dialogue skills observation card, and a group thinking skills scale. The experimental treatment material consisted of the Tokkatsu activities-based program, which includes: a student book and a teacher’s guide, and the research was applied to a group of (40) sixth-grade students.

The results of the research showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students in the research group in the pre-post testing of the dialogue skills favoring the post-testing, with a large effect size of (7.83). The results of the research also indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students in the research group in the pre-post-measurement of the collective thinking skills scale was in favor of the post-measurement, with a large effect size of (16.46), and the research results revealed a positive correlation between the scores of the research group on the dialogue skills test and their scores on the collective thinking skills scale.
