Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the relationship between burnout and job performance among teachers in special education centers in Bethlehem governorate. It also aimed to determine the nature of the relationship between the total score and dimensions of burnout and job performance measures. The sample of the study consisted of (45) educators special education during the academic year 2022-2023. The study used two scales, the burnout scale and the job performance scale prepared by the researcher.

The results showed that the burnout level of female teachers is low with a percentage of (32%), while the level of job performance is very high with a performance of (94.5%). The results showed that there is an inverse statistically significant relationship between the averages of the study sample's responses on the burnout scale and the averages of the study sample's responses on the job performance scale. In this respect, the increase in burnout corresponds to a decrease in job performance. Moreover, the increase in job performance corresponds to a decrease in burnout. The researcher recommended conducting research related to the mental health of special education educators on the one hand, and to work on preventive courses and trainings to reduce psychological burnout for workers in the humanitarian professions in general and special education in particular.
