Abstract

The current study aimed to verify the psychometric properties of Self - Advocacy Readiness Scale for university students. The study was conducted on a sample of (364) male and female students with an average age of (20.19) years and a standard deviation of (1.86). The study used the Self - Advocacy Readiness Scale for university students (prepared by: Harris, 2009; translated into Arabic by: Mustafa Abdel Mohsen Al-Hudaibi, Arafa Hosni Abu Hashish, and Maha Salah Sayed, 2024). The researchers used confirmatory factor analysis to validate the latent structure of the scale by testing the latent factors model. The results yielded that there are goodness of fit indicators for the proposed model. The values of the Chi-Square Index reached (3058.772), the Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) (0.895), the Standard Fit Index (NFI) (0.819), and the Standard Fit Index (NFI) (0.819), the Comparative Fit Index (CFI) (0.894), and the Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) (0.056). All of these values are in their ideal range. The reliability coefficient value for the scale as a whole was 0.895 and its sub-dimensions were 0.683 , 0.513, 0.741, 0.778, 0.597 respectively. This indicates that the scale has a high degree of reliability and validity.
