Using Rotated Blended Learning in Teaching Science to Develop ‎some Habits of Mind among Preparatory Stage Students ‎

Abstract

The present research aimed to develop some habits of mind of preparatory-stage ‎students using Rotated Blended Learning. The pre-post quasi-experimental design based ‎on the control and experimental groups was adopted. The research group was also ‎selected from second-year preparatory stage students at El-Gama'a School affiliated with ‎the Assiut Educational Administration in Assiut in the first semester of 2023-2024. ‎Their number was 76 male and female students, divided into two groups: a control ‎group of( 38) students and an experimental group of( 38) students taught using Rotated ‎Blended Learning. To achieve the research objectives and verify the validity of its ‎hypotheses, research materials and tools were prepared, including a Teacher’s Guide, an ‎activity booklet of exercises, and Rating Habits of Mind Scale to measure the extent to ‎which students possess the habits of (persisting, listening with understanding and ‎empathy, striving for accuracy, questioning and posing problems, thinking and ‎communicating with clarity and precision; reciprocal thinking). Results of The research ‎revealed a statistically significant difference using (T) test which was estimated (26.44 ) ‎at The level of (0.01) in favor of The post administration of The Habits of Mind Scale, ‎which indicated The effectiveness of using Rotated Blended Learning in Teaching ‎Science. The research recommended using Rotated Blended Learning in Teaching ‎Science and including Habits of Mind in Science courses, training courses for Science ‎teachers on using and assessing Habits of Mind also recommended.‎
