Abstract

The current research aims to identify the most important leadership skills of academic department heads and their relationship to the job satisfaction of faculty members at the University of Hail. The researcher used the descriptive approach, which aims to describe the reality of the phenomenon to be studied. The research sample included (290) faculty members from all the university’s colleges and academic departments. The researcher also used the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data, and the most important results were: that the most important leadership skills of department heads, in order (intellectual, administrative, humanitarian, and technical), were the level of job satisfaction among faculty members, in order (satisfaction with working conditions, satisfaction with relationships, satisfaction On self-actualization, satisfaction with salary and promotion), there are statistically significant differences between the averages of the responses of the research sample in the leadership skills of academic department heads due to years of experience, there are statistically significant differences in the leadership skills of academic department heads due to the nationality of the faculty member, and there are statistically significant differences in The leadership skills of academic department heads are due to the academic degree. There are non-significant differences in job satisfaction among faculty members due to years of experience. There are non-significant differences in job satisfaction among faculty members. Faculty members are attributed to academic degrees, and there is a statistically significant correlation between job satisfaction among faculty members and the leadership skills of department heads.
